Regular customers at the Duffy's Sport Grill in Boca Raton, Boynton Beach or Deerfield Beach may be tempted to visit the new restaurant in Mission Bay Plaza in West Boca.
The company gutted the former 9,000-square-foot eatery now offering indoor and outdoor seating for up to 324 patrons, including a lakefront patio. Eventually it will add an indoor and outdoor bar and more patio seating, said John Smith, assistant marketing director. This is the chain's 35th location.
Duffy's will update the regular menu in December. For now, it's offering "football features" from lobster tacos to lump crab mac and cheese.
The Blazin' BBQ cheeseburger with Angus beef and Jack Daniel sauce features pepper-crusted bacon on a toasted King's Hawaiian roll.
Known for its two-for-one drinks, wings, burgers, flatbreads and entrees from coconut shrimp to baby back ribs, Duffy's has added ahi tuna poke bowl over rice, salads and other healthier options.
The mahi mahi entrée can be grilled or blackened and comes with rice and beans and fresh broccoli. Gluten-free dishes and a children's menu is available.
Duffy's Sports Grill president Jason Emmett said he wants to be known as a restaurant, not just a sports bar.
But the restaurant at 20465 S. State Road 7 does have 90 high-definition, 65-inch flat screen televisions. The bar includes local craft beers and favorites from Guinness to Blue Moon. For dessert, crunchy fried cheesecake with caramel sauce is on the menu.
