A SOLID GAME DAY SPOT
Celebrating their 30th year in business, Florida grown restaurant chain Duffy’s Sports Grill has taken over the sports bar scene with it mix of upscale design and traditional southern hospitality. You’ll find 5 convenient locations here in the greater Orlando area. We checked out their Millennia Mall location, but check out their website for location info. Featuring 2 for 1 drinks every day, an insane amount of TV’s, and freshly prepared food, Duffy’s wants to be your new game day hangout.
We started our meal with a handful of appetizers, and two were definitely standouts. The Prince Edward Island mussels were a fantastic starter option, and the perfect size to share. They are served with a lid until delivered tableside to preserve the aroma and finished in a scampi-style sauce. Second were the hand cut mozzarella sticks, which were beer battered and accompanied with a side of marinara. The beer batter is light, crispy, and really changes your whole perspective of what a mozzarella stick should be.
The Duffy’s menu is packed with a great selection of classics and specialty items. We decided to check out 2 of their newest menu items, the Prime Time Burger and the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. The Prime Time Burger (which we upgraded to a double) literally cast a shadow on the plate. The PTB is jam packed with flavor and is topped with manchego cheese, candied bacon, cured pickles and Sriracha ketchup. Served up with a generous portion of their parmesan truffle fries, this burger will satisfy any hunger! The Cajun Chicken Alfredo was cooked perfectly al dente, with juicy blackened chicken and a creamy sauce. I would also highly recommend you check out the baby back ribs, the wings, and the boneless short rib macaroni ‘n cheese. One to avoid would be the shrimp burger, which is an uninspired mess of a sandwich.
My dessert choice was the salted caramel cookie sundae. The salted caramel cookie, filled with white chocolate chunks and pretzel pieces was served up warm and wedged into a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a mint leaf to dress it up. It’s a simple dessert, with the flavors and presentation all on point.
When it comes to game day destinations, few places do it as well as Duffy’s. Their continued success and expansion should come as no surprise to anyone who has been to one of their restaurants. You’ll find great drink specials, friendly service, and a great view of the game from anywhere in the house.
